1. How often does DCSD bill out?

DCSD is on a 2-month billing cycle. We bill out mid-month and have a due date of the last day of the next month.

i.e., If you receive your bill on July 15th for a billing period of July 01, 2020, to August 31, 2020, your bill is due August 31, 2020.

2. Does DCSD require a deposit to start services?

No. However, there is a $10 change of service fee charge on your first billing statement.

3. Does DCSD offer a Senior Discount?

Yes. If you qualify for a discount on your property taxes through the Douglas County Assessor's Office, we will honor the same tier level (S1, S2, or S3) discount on your sanitary sewer services. The account must remain in good standing.

1. When do I need a building permit and how much will it cost?

You need a building permit for all construction that involves the construction, repair, movement to another site, removal, or demolition of any building or structure. All electrical, plumbing and mechanical work needs a separate permit for each trade. The price of the permit is calculated using the cost of the construction. 2. May I start work before my permit is issued?

Work on a project may not legally begin before a permit is obtained and on the work site.

3. Do I need a permit to replace a water heater?

Water heater applications are processed at the counter.

1. How do I locate my house sewer line?

The Sewer District has records of the original sewer installation to almost all homes and businesses in the East Wenatchee Area. Just leave us a message on this website

2. How do I know if I am connected to sewer?

• Usually, this is an easy question; just leave us a message on the website, and we will research your address and let you know
• Sometimes this question is a tricky one to answer. We can work with you to schedule a site visit and try to get an answer

3. What should I do if I have a slow drain or sewer back up?

• You can attempt to clear the drain yourself. Chemical drain cleaners can often be effective, and, if you are comfortable doing it, you can use a plumber's snake from a drain in the house to try and clear the line
• Call a rooter service or a plumber. The Wenatchee area is lucky to have several local rooter services and plumbing companies

4. What if I think there is a problem with the public sewer that is causing my structure to have drainage issues?

• Call the Sewer District Inspector at 509-630-4099 during normal working hours, Monday through Thursday, 7 to 5:30, or email the Sewer District Inspector.
